M.O.D.O.K.’s Master Plan Revealed In New Interview

I never thought I’d see the day when a character like M.O.D.O.K. would be the star of his own TV show on Hulu, but here we are. To celebrate, Marvel Comics is releasing M.O.D.O.K. Head Games from writers Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum and artist Scott Hepburn. Check out an interview with the writers of the book below.

From Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, showrunners of the upcoming animated Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. show on Hulu, comes a journey into the mind of one of the biggest heads in the Marvel Universe! M.O.D.O.K. is the ruthless and brilliant leader of the terrorist organization AIM, outsmarting heroes and outmaneuvering his cutthroat colleagues gunning for his position… but when he begins to be haunted by memories of a family he never had, it leaves him unsure if he is losing his freakishly-large mind, or if perhaps there is a lot more to this enormous mind… or if there is something more sinister behind these visions.

“We did the M.O.D.O.K. show for Hulu and Jordan and the writers created such an amazing kind of world around M.O.D.O.K. that has never been seen in the comics,” Oswalt explained to Marvel Host Ryan Penagos. “We had so much creativity to burn that Jordan just said we should fill this in in a four-issue comic series as a background. I always love that, to be able to go even deeper into that world.”

“We were so excited to write the 616 Marvel version of the character,” Blum added. “We leapt at the chance to write the M.O.D.O.K. who had been there since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby… and put our spin on him and pull from a lot of the other versions of M.O.D.O.K. in the past. The character is very flexible and I think you can do a lot with him.”

M.O.D.O.K. Head Games #1 is set for release on December 2nd, 2020.
