A Must Read For Comic Fans: Masters Of Comics Launches At Portsmouth Comic Con

After a rather raucous weekend, I was pleasantly surprised by one last thrill come Monday morning when a rather hefty package dropped on my doorstep first thing. To discover that it was the new oversized book, Masters of Comics, by Joel Meadows, was great news. Not only written by Meadows, but including many of his own photographs of some of the world’s leading comic book creators, this book is a lovingly crafted 181 page tome that includes interviews with the likes of Walt Simonson, Milo Manara, Frank Quitely and Posy Simmonds. All wrapped up with an foreword by Mark Verheiden.

Taking three years to put together, it gives any reader wanting to pick it up an amazing peek into the artists’ studios and homes. A real rarity, packed full of the creator’s artwork too. Like I said, a real must for comic book fans, I reckon, as it gives you access to creators on a scale I’ve not seen before. I can see why it took so long to put together.
